Here is a super simple recipe that will knock your socks off!

Spicy Garlic Broccoli

Ingredients (2-3 servings)

  • 1 large bunch of broccoli
  • 3-4 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 Tbs. low-sodium soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Wash broccoli and cut into bite size pieces.  If you want, lightly steam broccoli (about 5 mins).  Otherwise, leave broccoli raw and it will cook nicely when you sauté it.  Broccoli retains the most nutrients when eaten raw.
  2. Mince garlic
  3. Add sesame oil and garlic to a large skillet and sauté for 1 minute.  Then add the spices and sauté for 30 seconds.  Finally, add the broccoli and soy sauce and sauté for about 5 minutes.  You can add 1-3 Tablespoons of water if you want the broccoli to steam more.
